    Powerful Questions - 7 Strategies to Successful Questioning in Sales
    By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jose_Gil]Jose Gil

    Over the years of working with salespeople I have found that their most common weakness is asking questions. Most sales people are so keen to make the sale they forget to ask the customer what they really want or need. They simply don't engage the customer and force feed them the products and services in their sales kit.

    In most cases the products and services a salesperson is selling are needed or wanted by the customer, but they don't get the sale. Why? This is simply due to the fact that they haven't spent the time to find out more about their customer and tie in their products and services to address their pain points.

    Don't ask a question. Don't get an answer.

    Ask the wrong question. Get the wrong answer.

    Ask the right question. You:

     • Qualify the buyer;

     • Establish rapport;

     • Differentiate yourself from the competition;

     • Build Creditability;

     • Learn about the customer and their business;

     • Identify their needs;

     • Find the pain points to address;

     • Get personal information; and

     • Close the sale.

    So what are the right questions to ask? Well they are called "Powerful questions". They will lead you to getting the information outlined above. So how do you formulate a Powerful Question? Simply, ask a question that makes them think and respond in relation to you and the opportunity at hand. Although this is simple many salespeople struggle with this concept so the 7 strategies where developed.

    These strategies have been used by many salespeople with much success. The salespeople that I have introduced these strategies to, have been able to completely transform their sales achievements and become leading sales executives. This did not occur overnight but over time the salesperson become to realise the effectiveness of powerful questions and it became second nature to them.

    So the 7 strategies to successful questioning are to - Ask questions:

     1. that make your customer qualify their needs;

     2. about their business and it issues;

     3. about their personal and company goals;

     4. that separate you from your competition not compare you to them;

     5. that make the customer think before they respond;

     6. that create a buying atmosphere not a selling one;

     7. and LISTEN and write down the answers.

    Use these strategies to improve your sales techniques. You will not only become a better salesperson but you will also gain the rapport and the respect from your customers. These are the traits of a good salesperson.

    The evolution of the television has brought us from chunky square boxes first introduced in the 1950's to the thin and streamlined flat panel televisions of today including what was once the holy grail of television - the Plasma.

    What is a Plasma Television?

    The Plasma's sophisticated technology consists of two thin glass sheets in which plasma gas molecules are trapped. The plasma molecules emit light when electrically prompted to reproduce the images in the screen.

    Plasma televisions can be costly not only to purchase but also to repair-so it's important to understand how to clean perhaps one of the most delicate parts of the plasma which directly affects the viewing quality-the screen.

    The Problems with Plasma Screens

    Although different from a LCD (liquid crystal display) screen, the method of cleaning a PDP (plasma display panel) or plasma screen is similar.

    Whether cleaning a LCD TV screen or cleaning a Plasma TV screen, the first thing to remember is to never clean them as if they were glass surfaces.

    What "NOT" to do

    1. Don't use alcohol based products. Plasma panels are made with a special anti-glare coating and using solvents containing alcohol such as Windex and 409 can damage both the anti-glare coating and the plasma screen.

    2. Avoid abrasive material. Because a plasma screen is very delicate, avoid using paper towels, and other harsh chemicals or textures as they can scratch the surface.

    3. Don't Spray. Never spray any cleaning solution directly onto the screen, always spray it onto your cleaning cloth.

    4. Don't touch the screen. Don't press hard or touch the screen with your fingers-you will leave behind oily smears and/or scratches.

    5. Dry it off. Do not leave any excess liquid on your screen.

    What "TO" do

    1. Always refer to your manual. The manufacturer may detail specific products that are to be used with your particular plasma screen.

    2. Pull the plug. Unplug the television from the power source. Give the television time to cool off before you begin to clean it.

    3. Dust it off. Using a soft cloth, such as a microfiber cloth, gently wipe the surface of the screen.

    4. Use a plasma cleaner. If you must use a liquid to properly clean your plasma, use a cleaner made specifically for plasma screens.  Even better, use a natural one.  Some plasma cleaners come with an anti-static agent that will help repel dust from the plasma screen.

    5. Dry it off. Use a soft cloth to wipe the screen dry.

    6. Plug it up. Make sure the surface is completely dry and then plug the unit back into the   rel=nofollow [http://cleaning.tips.net/Pages/T004459_Cleaning_Plasma_TV_Screens.html]power supply.

    * It's recommended that you refer to the manufacturer's manual before you attempt to clean your plasma screen display. The manufacturer may recommend a particular brand of cleaner to be used with their product. There may also be certain types of cleaning agents that are not to be used.

    720p Vs 1080i HDTV

    You may know that 720p and 1080i are both HDTV standards. But what do they mean, and which one is best? We reveal all in this article.

    720p Vs 1080i HDTV
    By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kenny_Hemphill]Kenny Hemphill

    Is 720p vs 1080i worth being concerned about? Yes and no. If you're a consumer looking for a new TV, you can happily ignore the 720p vs 1080i debate because every TV which is described as HDTV or HDTV Ready is required to support both formats.

    NOTE: You should be aware though that lots of TVs which support 1080i have fewer than 1080 lines and so scale the 1080 signal down. That's not a huge issue as even scaled down 1080i is far ahead of a regular NTSC signal. It is worth bearing in mind that more expensive HDTVs tend to have better scalers than cheaper ones, and this may be an issue.

    However, for broadcasters it's a live issue. Should they broadcast 1080 lines of interlaced video or 720 lines of progressive scan? They could just broadcast two signals, one in each format, but that would use up a huge chunk of bandwidth and be hugely expensive for very little gain.

    To answer the question, it's important to understand the difference between 720p vs 1080i. A 720p signal is made up of 720 horizontal lines. Each frame is displayed in its entirety on-screen for 1/30th of a second. This is know as progressive scan (hence the 'p')The quality is like watching 30 photographic images a second on TV. A 1080i signal comprises 1080 horizontal lines but all the lines are not displayed on-screen simultaneously. Instead, they are interlaced (hence the 'i'), ie every other lines is displayed for 1/60th of a second and then the alternate lines are displayed for 1/60th of a second. So, the frame rate is still 30 frames per second, but each frame is split into two fields, which your brain then puts together subconsciously.

    Most of the time interlacing works fine, but for fast moving images, such as sports like baseball and hockey it can cause problems which manifest themselves as a 'stepping' effect on-screen. Progressive scan signals don't have this problem and so are better suited to sports.

    ESPN puts it like this: 'Progressive scan technology produces better images for the fast moving orientation of sports television. Simply put, with 104 mph fastballs in baseball and 120 mph shots on goal in hockey, the line-by-line basis of progressive scan technology better captures the inherent fast action of sports. For ESPN, progressive scan technology makes perfect sense.'

    Bottom line? For us, as consumers 720p vs 1080i is not a debate worth worrying about, so you can relax and focus on all the other criteria on your list when you buy your next HDTV.
